Will
Will is a chestnut thoroughbred – his Jockey Club name is Last Storm. This beauty was born to run and was approved out of the gate as a two-year old. The day before he was to run his first race he collapsed and the diagnosis was Arytenoid Chondritis. This inflammatory disease occurs among adult horses and leads to laryngeal obstruction, which can make breathing nearly impossible. Having such a serious condition has caused Will to require five tracheotomies in his young life. He found his way to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) and to The Luci Center through the efforts of the TRF.
While his health issues will certainly not allow him to pursue the career he was born to, his gentle temperament and good nature have made him an ideal therapy horse.
