Harley
Harley was a 27 year-old dark bay Appendix Quarterhorse – quarterhorse and thoroughbred. Harley began his life as a track pony horse – he calmly took the racing thoroughbreds to the gate. He then moved on to Midway College where he was a school horse in their equestrian program. He was donated to the Luci Center in 1999 and served his clientele well.
As a tall horse, Harley had an especially smooth gait which provided a calm environment for those riders who could not tolerate a lot of movement. He was also a very soft-skinned horse, and so he was a great teacher of sensitivity and pressure-related skills for all of our participants.
