Our Horses - Danny Boy

Danny BoyDanny Boy is a grade pony. Large for a pony and with a distinctive Arrow D brand on his left hip, Danny brings his own personality to his therapy duties. In 1999 an equine dentist told The Luci Center about this special guy. A little girl in Indiana had learned to ride on Danny but had outgrown him. She moved on to a Morgan horse and began to show – bringing Danny along to teach the new Morgan how to behave like a gentleman in the trailer and to stand patiently while waiting for their class. When they could no longer support the care and feeding of two horses, the family donated Danny to The Luci Center.

Danny’s large stride and movement create the action needed by those Luci Center clients who can benefit from stimulation and neurological input without being too rough. He is quietly secure in his role at The Luci Center and knows his job well. Our smallest clients feel confident and at ease when Danny is their mount.
