Horse Acceptance Guidelines
The Luci Center appreciates and values the donation of our extraordinary therapy horses. It takes a special horse to carry the exceptional cargo that is The Luci Center client so we must be very careful about accepting new horses to our program. If you have a horse that you would like to donate that meets the following guidelines please contact us at 502-220-4308 or through our contact form.
1. Age 8-18 years
2. Negative Coggins
3. Current Vaccinations
Includes, but is not limited to:
- EWT and Rhino
- Rabies
- West Nile Virus Vaccine – 2 doses if first time vaccination or annual booster
4. Current worming – within 30 days
5. Current CBC and Chemistry Panel – within 30 days
6. Temperature readings daily for 3 days prior to shipping
7. Paperwork Includes, but is not limited to:
- Coggins
- General Health History
- Worming
- Vaccinations
- Dental
- Medications
8. Feed Schedule (type, amounts, supplements)
- Farrier Schedule
- List of past veterinary contacts
